That's one of the reasons people who don't believe the alien
explanation are interested in UFOs. "If there are no aliens, why do so
many people think there are?" is an interesting psychological
question.

Oh, definitely.
Which is why I don't like people who say they know that UFOs are
alien spacecraft.
