I expect that both schools will claim that the new data proves them
right!  Drifters will point to a pseudo-gene and exclaim "Look how
it has drifted!".  Niche-pickers will find an isozyme as their
example, and marvel at how it has become an functional adaptation,
distinct from its parent.
