Replying to this little ditty which Paul Wankadia scratched to Damien Flux:
PW> On (14 Mar 96) Damien Flux wrote to Paul Wankadia...
PW> Hey - you're the same guy who had all those lightbulb jokes :)
DF> That's me alright.
PW> I won't ask for a few more in here :)
That's good. It's not exactly the defined topic for this echo.
DF> I'm desperately looking for an init string for an Avtek Mega DataFax
DF> 144.
PW> I've got an Avtek MegaPlusFax V.32bis - is that the model you're
PW> talking about? Serial number is CD960 or something like that...
DF> Avtek Mega DataFax 144 Serial Number CD720
DF> So I'm still looking...
PW> Hmmm... Do you happen to have that Cooee package that comes with
PW> NetComm (or Avtek) modems? It's got init strings for just about every
PW> NetComm/Avtek type modem (prolly includes yours) and a few more, I
PW> think...
Yes, I have that program. What it has it a file similiar to a .ini file
for a number of modems. One file per modem. The file itself resembles a
standard DOS batch program or an assembler program. It jumps all over the
place making init strings up depending on what setting you have specified
in Cooee. What I want is a standard init string that I can use with
FrontDoor.
PW> ... Difference between Windoze & a virus? Viruses are done by pros.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Viruses do something.
Bye now, Lion.
