Don't forget the Altman movie projected a druggy, leftie Vietnam onto
Korea. When the series producers looked for one certain something to push
the envelope, they chose apolitical cynicism.  One battle at a time -
"All in the Family" was language/race, etc.  So they wound up
with a totally different "Mash" from the movie's. - different,
maybe better, certainly with longer legs and greater sponsor-ability.
