subject: Perl Rules

Welcome to the Fidonet Perl echo. This echo is provided via the
Fidonet backbone as a place for users to discuss perl programming.

any of the following is on topic:

- perl on any platform, perl for isapi, perlscript, perl/tk
- other scripting languages: python, rebol, bash, tcl/tk
- utilities that complement the above
- books that complement the above
- announcements that complement the above

these are specifically OFF TOPIC:

- discussions of software/hardware hacking and pirating
- discussions of writing viruses, trojan horses, ansi bombs
- posting any material related to the above. \
- scripting languages that have their own echo (eg, REXX, dos batch)
- BBS ads

Flames are absolutely not allowed. If you have to be rude, then
use NETMAIL or a private local echo.

Please leave moderating to the moderator. It is my job to deal
with off-topic posts, flames, and spammers. By posting replies to
off-topic messages, one only makes the matter worse. Discussion of
moderator decisions is OFF TOPIC. If you are concerned about
something that is happening in the echo, please use NETMAIL to
discuss this with the moderator. The moderator can be reached at
the address in the origin line below.

Aliases are not permitted. If you have an alias in your From: line
then you must sign your message with your real name.

Messages promoting other nets are not to be posted in this echo.
Please use the OTHERNETS echo if you wish to talk about a non-FIDO
net network.

Nodes planning to use robots or automatic systems to post messages
must first get clearance from the moderator.

Sending a message from a banned user will also result in the
message sender being banned.

This is a programming echo. Let's keep it on topic. If your
message is of a private nature, you might consider using NETMAIL or
a private local echo.

These rules will be posted on the first of every month.

The vented spleen perl archive liststing will also be posted the
first of every month.

My perl archive is available at 1:249/139 for freq or download
