Well..funny you should ask. As part of the merger, we were guaranteed no
changes will come about for 2 years, including health and other items.
We lost a great stock purchase plan with Cap Cities/ABC. We were able to
pick up Cap Cities stock at a 15% discount as well as pay no brokerage
fees. Disney has NO discount program neither a stock handler. They
passed it on to an outside firm, which is only scalping us. So, I've not
bought any more stock. Good thing...it's been on the down-swing anyway.
Disney issued to most of the employees here a Company "yellow card" with
our ssn#s on it. Supposedly good for 20% discounts at the stores. But I
haven't seen it yet! Seems I got lost in the shuffle along with a few
others. And that's a shame because my wife has gone over the edge with
buying lots of Disney paraphernalia and visiting Disneyworld almost every
year. We'll be there toward the end of September this year.
So..I'm stuck with the my company issued card which is only good for a
10% discount. Oh...well!
No...I expect to see some major changes taking place in a few more
months. The "Honeymoon" is almost over!!!
