Hello--
I know it's still early, but with my extremely limited income, I'm already
thinking about winter.  Specifically, what I am going to have to buy.  The
most obvious item(s) is a new set of tires, since I am certain that I will
have my current pair worn out by then (what with all the rocks I hit, skids,
and such  :-)   )  What should I look for in tires?  I do a mixture of off
and on road riding with my mountain bike, and currently have off road tires
on it (came with the bike.)  Since I live in Wisconsin, I will be riding in
ice and snow (I assume-- sometimes Mother Nature fools us.)
What else I am going to have to aquire for winter riding?

P.S.--  I remember in my old paper route days I didn't even bother to 
re-oil the chain for winter-- just put on my heavey coat and went!  Of 
ourse,
I also went through a fair number of bicycles back then.
