-=> Ed Vance wrote to Sean Dennis <=- EV> I will take a look at Ghostery. Ghostery is really good. Sometimes it can block things you want if you get it too clamped down. A lot of websites that use the Disqus comment forums load twice as fast since I have that blocked (I don't use those forums). However, I run an "Internet appliance" for my router and firewall which is a computer running customized software, in my case I run pfSense, so I can log into that and watch the traffic along with very detailed information. If you really want to see some interesting stuff, download and install a program called Wireshark. It monitors your LAN connection and will show you all of the traffic that will go in and out of your computer. It can be overwhelming to see all of the stuff that goes in and out of your system. I have used this professionally for quite some time to diagnose "hidden" problems with success. It's also just plain interesting to watch the traffic that goes in and out of your computer. Later, Sean ... Not tonight, dear. I have a modem. ___ MultiMail/Win32 v0.49 --- Maximus/2 3.01* Origin: Outpost BBS - bbs.outpostbbs.net (1:18/200) SEEN-BY: 3/0 633/267 640/954 712/0 620 848 @PATH: 18/200 261/38 712/848 633/267 |
