Basing anything history of the unit as a whole is absurd - it was also a combat infantry division in WW II - it's not like it's the same people you know. Another thing that the 104th Div (TNG) (it's West Coast counterpart) does is run ROTC summer camps for trainee officers. The 98th probably does something similar. Until I got called up a couple years back, I was being recruited by the 104th.
