It looks like Wentzky doesn't know that being an astronaut is not an
elected position. :-)

Now, they *did* let John Glenn go on the space shuttle while Glenn was a
senator, but he was also the first American to orbit the earth, so there
was some rationale for the exception.

BTW, they *can* shoot you on the Space Shuttle - that would simply be a
dumb thing to do if the bullet didn't stop inside you. As to whether they
would, I'll just refer you to recent news about an astronaut who shot
someone here on earth and who was arrested as a result.
