Exactly. And there's a gem of wisdom often missed in our rush to own "the
best".
I have an ICOM R-7100. I also have (2) 2006's, (2) PRO-43's, a '34, and a
'2022. Each one has it's own niche in my room (well, mostly ... one of the
'43's is strictly a portable unit). The R-7100 will do things the '2006
can't even think of doing, even if Bill Cheek were to put all his mods in
it. Yet, the '2006s are used a *lot*, because they do what they do so very
well.
But, the trick is to get what fits your needs, not what someone else
recommends.
