Hi! Alan, In a message to Tom Walker you wrote: AZ> I liked using MS Works, at least for being able to have a database AZ> file full of addresses, then inserting address fields into a form AZ> letter or label template in the word processor module. Our favourite is MS Office 2003 Professional. Barb uses it at home for mostly word processing and a lttle Excel stuff. MS Access is installed but it's no longer used. I gave it a flogging for about three years when I was the Secretary of a local gun club, to maintain member records using either a custom data entry/edit screen form or the data file itself. I would routinely export Excel spreadsheets for the Treasurer to keep up with membership payments, etc. MS Word could access the (Access) database to generate letters to the club members, and could also generate the individual envelopes to enclose them (either three-fold A4 for 'DL' envelopes or two-fold A4 for 'B5'[?] envelopes). At work, I used MS Word exclusively to post DL & B5(?) envelopes from its own 'data' file of addresses list. I also created templates customised for Post Office forms, that used the same data file; a form is fed into the printer and the merge document is then printed directly onto the form in the printer. Easy-peasy. Cheers, Paul. ...
