All I can say is way back when most of my unit would have been court
martialed many times over. What will happen now when the fleet pulls into a
foreign port? Tell the seamen to tiptoe trough the tulips ?

Troops angry over no-hookers plan
RHEIN-MAIN AIR BASE, Germany, Sept. 27 (UPI) -- U.S. troops stationed in
Germany are upset over plans to change the Uniform Code of Military Justice
to make paying for sex a punishable offense.
In Germany, unlike other areas of the world where U.S. troops are
stationed, prostitution is legal and women who choose the world's oldest
profession are taxed like any other workers. They also are given regular
health checks.
Pfc. Marty Conyers of the 464th Replacement Detachment on Rhein-Main told
the European edition of Stars & Stripes changing the UCMJ would be
unfair to troops.
"It would be different if it were some third-world country that had no
jobs and no opportunity, and women were forced into it," Army Sgt.
Adam Z. Pastor said. "It's a little bit pushy to enforce that law
here."
Military wife Dana Molnar advises defense officials to stop fretting over
troops's sex lives.
"It seems like we can spend our time worrying about more important
things," she told the newspaper.

Under changes proposed by the Pentagon, frequenting a prostitute could soon
be a violation of the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ). As soon as
early next year, military members who pay for sexual services could face a
dishonorable discharge and up to a year in jail.
The change is part of an ongoing effort by the Defense Department to combat
human trafficking. If approved, the changes would apply to military members
even in countries where prostitution is legal.
