This is false: different people have *vastly* different numbers of offspring and descendants - and that shows little sign of changing in the modern world. Evolutionary change in man may be less due to death - and more due to sexual selection than it once was, however. If anything the difference in reproductive potential between the most and least potent is *increasing* - and those who have had the most children ever are likely to be among those who have lived relatively recently. The Guinness book of records mentions Moulay Ismail and a Russian lady as the record holders. Both lived fairly recently - and it seems unlikely that their feats were bettered in paleolithic times. -- __________ |im |yler http://timtyler.org/ tim{at}tt1lock.org Remove lock to reply. --- þ RIMEGate(tm)/RGXPost V1.14 at BBSWORLD * Info{at}bbsworld.com --- * RIMEGate(tm)V10.2áÿ* RelayNet(tm) NNTP Gateway * MoonDog BBS * RgateImp.MoonDog.BBS at 7/27/04 6:06:44 AM* Origin: MoonDog BBS, Brooklyn,NY, 718 692-2498, 1:278/230 (1:278/230) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 278/230 10/345 106/1 2000 633/267 |
