I certainly feel sympathetic about the set-up for art work @ $50/hour -- w/
nothing firm so far as time limits. And I agree that's it's neat to want to
avoid offending. Still, OMO, you've gotta have some idea of what you're
doing to your budget.
Seems to me you could legitimately make that point to him, and ask whether it
might not be reasonable for you to ask for a look at the progress after, say,
four hours of eork -- in view of the danger that you might find yourself
required to modify the goal. That it's just possible, much as you're hoping
to avoid it, that you'd have to say, "Gee, Art -- D'you think you could lock
up the general business logo, and perhaps the letterhead version, when you
can put another hour or two on it? Because we might just have to forego the
rest of the operation. As I said, Art -- I sure want to avoid that sort of
thing. Having the whole package part of a harmonious unit is, as you pointed
out, a primary value. The dollars issue is, however, pretty rigid, too."
.....er sumthin' on that line?
Sure wish you luck, Bob. --ed
