Hey Maurice!

A less convoluted oneliner;

   printf "Crc %X\n" $(cksum filename | cut -f1 -d' ')

which will result in 'Crc 53A7B0CD' since the %X in printf does what the tr
call does and adding the 'Crc ' part to the beginning gets rid of the echo
call.
