I knew is was too much, so I reduced it to like 106...now when calling 
local_map it works, but now in my code somewhere is another problem.  I seem 
to be able to save the portion I want in local_map, but display always shows 
one line...I think I will look at it a bit more before sharing my code with 
this area...seems whenever I write a message, I figure out my mistake moments 
after it is sent.

Dynamically allocate a variable?  I am not sure I understand what that 
means...I use all of the local_map at once...I could load the entire map 
dynamically and then for the local area it would only use what is needed.  
But that might not be what you mean...I would love some more information on 
it.  I seem to be learning new stuff about C++ daily.
