Yes, I have a two channel decoder. I had a four channel decoder that looked
like the one that you have. DBX said that they improved the circuitry to
increase the noise reduction from 30db to 40db so I bought one of the new
improved units and gave the original unit to a friend. DBX's advertising
slogan at the time was "Dolby reduces noise, DBX eliminates it."
I have a nice collection of DBX LP recordings and cassettes. I've stopped
recording tapes in DBX because I have been afraid of being stuck with too
many recordings encoded in DBX should my decoder unit ever fail. I sure wish
we had garage sales around here like the one's in your area. It is very rare
to find good used hi-fi equipment around here.
Later........................ .gw.
