The above exchange illustrates the
most commonly held mythologies
that still exist within evolutionary
theory depsite billions of dollars
invested in education.
1) Evolution in Humans has not stopped.
The main selective force in humans is
INTENSE intra (within) species competition
to increase fitness mutualisation (the only
part of Hamilton's rule that is valid
but remains soundly ignored). The failure
of the evolutionary
theory establishment to recognise that
fitness mutualisation entirely dominates
human evolution is a sad reflection of
their irrationality. Any health service
is an intense form of fitness mutualisation
where tiny increases or decreases in
mutualisation can greatly effect which _set_
of genes are passed on.
2) Evolution is not determined by rates
of survival it is only limited by them.
Evolution by natural selection can only
be determined by the total number of fertile
forms each parent reproduces into one population.
That is it. Confusing a limiting factor for a
controlling factor reverses testable causation
within evolutionary theory turning it into
biological nonsense.
3) "Good for the species" is classical
group selection which failed over 50 years
ago to contest Darwinian selection at just
the one, fertile organism level. The so called
"new" forms of group selection are only multi
unit theories of group selection, i.e. they
attempt to combine the gene level, the organism
level, the fertile organism level and any groups
of such within the one theory. So far, all multi
level theories remain _impossible_ to refute so
they cannot meet just a minimal Popperian standard.
As one level refutes you are allowed to just jump
to any other level and then back again in "ad
hoc" mayhem. The classical form of group
selection was a simple single unit theory so
it was testable. It refuted in favour of the
Darwinian single level of selection which remains
the only valid _theory_ of evolution that we have
that can meet a minimal Popperian standard.
The Neo Darwinian establishment must take
full responsibility for the perpetration of
the myths discussed because they are mostly based
on the misuse of over simplified models. The
establishment's failure to identify the over
riding importance of Darwinian fitness to
any testable evolutionary theory remains
endemic. The view that evolutionary theory
need not be testable is unconscionable.
