I use BNU as fossil-driver and I get 31k2 and 33k6 connects fine ...
Perhaps does your McMail have *no* 31k2 and 33k6 connect messages (such as
CONNECT 31200 and CONNECT 33600)
I had to change this also manually in FrontDoor 2.12 ...
