I think that we go back to more of that, but more of it on our mainland and
more frequently if they perceive any lack of resolve or lapse in forward
motion at all. Falluja is a good example, we stopped the attack in April
and they came back stronger and more deadly than before - you can't tell me
that most of the regular citizens are supportive of them, but fear them
instead.

OTOH, after they deliberately targeted the children (and killed 35) a
couple of days ago (from what I've read) the people of the region started
both turning in the terrorist locations and demanding that they be cleaned
out. Hence, partially, the timing of the current assault on Samarra.

Most of the world is not interested in terrorism and death by suicide, but
were more afraid of the extremists in their midst than they were of any
other consequences. We're changing that, and not a moment too soon.
