You can choose to believe or not believe whatever you like. When I fly I
can see the smog at ground level, it's like a cloud of dirt over every city
and populated region. It's not small and I don't see how it can NOT have a
negative effect on the planet.

Ok now that said, it's not CO2 emissions, it's "greenhouse
gasses" which includes a whole lot more stuff.
