| subject: | Internal Modem Problems |
-=> Quoting Alan Marks to Any kind person! <=- AM> I have recently bought from Swann Modems an Internal 28800 BPS modem, AM> having been assured that only the brand name was different from the AM> morer expensive kind! Never heard of Swann Modems or their company! AM> changed the port reference in TFW and in Trumpetwsk.ini, as well as AM> the baud rate. Having changed the comm port in TFW I presume that you are talking about the little lights on the bottom status bar of the window, if these are the lights you are talking about, look in the setup to make sure that modem lights are switched to on (I think you put a tick in a config box in default device?). AM> It also won't disconnect and has hung the whole machine several AM> times. is there something that I am missing? If you haven't done so already try to put "~" into your hangup string such as "~~~+++~~~H0 ^M" I've heard that the "~" places a short pause in the processing of the string, this may give the modem time to receive the hang up command correctly. Also look through some type of Checkit program and make sure there are no IRQ conflict. Don't take my word for it, but some of this may work. Billy.X ...
