Right on - there was an excellent paper in New Scientist recently 
about the human inability to `multitask',  showing that the 
greater the number of activities that attention had to supervise, 
the less efficient the human was at each task.

The obvious conflicts between cellphoning and driving were 
examined - plus the less obvious examples of cooking a three- 
course meal.

In each example, however, it was plain that conflict and disaster 
appeared because the multiple tasks faced were not then scheduled 
into a linear supervision of simultaneous activities.

Tackled that way,  cooking a meal for a family can go like a dream 
- and take a minimal time...
