G'Day Matthew,
My two cents worth:
Build your boxes using whatever you think will be the strongest joint,
ignoring the aesthetics. Then veneer the outside and top/bottom edges in
the same wood. That'll cover up the joints and all little infringements
that are inevitable with us mortals.
My three cents worth:
I used biscuits on mine. Easy to do and accurate (with practice). Mine has
turned out as solid as rock!
I also used a twopack glue called 'Hard & Fast' from an Australian
company called Triton
