While listening to Poe Lim Pete heard:USR Courier News?

G'day Poe

PC> It would make it easier when we finally get CID, any idea how
PC> these couriers come apart, i might take a peek inside.

PL> Back rubber feet comes off, and there are two screws.

I'll remember that in case i have to pull mine to bits.

PL> FWIW, mine clicks when it takes the phone off-hook (either
PL> dialing or answering), and it is probably one of the oldest
PL> Austel approved USR (current type). It was originally a v.32ter
PL> version that has been upgraded (by me, replacing a
PL> daughterboard) to v.FC initially, then v.34 by new SDL. I have
 PL> the slider on minimum.

Oh well that's that theory blown out of the water :-( looks like even
the daughter board models click when they lift the line.
