DH> I have to say that's the only thing that I can't tolerate with adhd is
DH> the mood swings... My mom tells me I'm worse than her when she had PMS
. So how DO you deal with your swings?
RF> I just do. I really don't know how. Sometimes, I give in and cry
RF> and other times the computer and my own room helps. If I notice I am
RF> crabby I let people (my family) know and apologize. They treat me a
RF> little different and know not to rock the boat. Other times I sit and
RF> drink a glass of beer. That helps or I go out in the car by myself.
RF> Sometimes I put the stereo and headphones on and they all leave me
RF> alone. Other times well, I just fight with everyone. Since they
RF> know, why I guess they tolerate me.
I would imagine they love you more than "tolerate" you. Knowing you are
having mood swings, perhaps they have learned to just let *you* work
them out. I give my sons space when they are having lows, letting them
know that I am available to talk "when and if" they want to. When they
are ready, they do talk about their feelings.
