Mainly becuase the U.S. was going after a 'drug traffic'er
And the Panamanians didn't exactly want him either.
The two weeks of parades and party'n after his arrest by U.S.
forces might have given a slight clue that the Panamanian people
didn't like the ol' boy, much.
You obviously were watching American Television. Having parents living in
Venezuela, and having been in Venezuela shortly after the capture of Noriega,
I
was able to see the glaring contrast in reporting the news by American media.
American Television showed Panamanians cheering American forces... while just
down the street, American forces were blockading protests. There were more
protests and anger towards the Americans than American TV showed. Around the
rest of the world, they showed both sides, some pro-american, and alot of
anti-american.
Propaganda: It -DOES- exist in the USA.
