        Also, it's a hobby (and a pleasure) in itself to use old cameras, 
run old cars and keep them running.  For the most part, I find Opus as 
advanced as most new BBS software packages I've used.  In many cases, the 
barefoot Opus isn't as feature rich (as compared, say, to Maximus with its 
built in QWK door, powerful measage base search engine, and the like), but 
Opus seems to have been written at a time when efficiency and economy were 
dictated by hardware restrictions. 
 In other words, despite not having as many features, I think it's 
tighter and faster.  This isn't something that will be clear if you're using 
cutting edge hardware, but when you're using older hardware like I am, the 
efficiencies and/or ineffeciencies of programs become VERY clear (not just 
Opus, let me tell you!).
 
 Besides, as I've said before, the Opus docs were actually fun to 
read.  When newer programs climb on THAT bandwagon, maybe I'll be more 
inclined to ignore their general slothfulness :)
