AQ> The trendy architects have been increasingly designing a lot of "ice

AQ> and big shopping centres over the last 15-20 years - making my life
AQ> very difficult. Do you know what I am talking about?
Boy do I know! Slippery floors become harder for me to handle every year.
AQ> // Has anyone found suitable crutch tips that are non slip on such
AQ> surfaces? If so I would love to hear how people manage, and details
AQ> about the tips.
I don't know what they're called, but the crutch tips I use are like suction
cups when they're new. However, it doesn't take much walking for them to
wear down and start slipping again. I've learned to have my shoes resoled
with crepe rather than leather, which reduces slipping. But, crepe tends to
wear out more quickly.
Most of the buildings around here have a mat just inside the door and I try
to use them to make sure my crutches and shoes are as dry as possible, but
sometimes that's difficult because everyone else tracks the water off onto
the bare floor and I have to walk through that water after leaving the mat.
Mainly I use my wheelchair when it's slippery outside.
I doubt if all this is much help to you, but at least I tried.
