Hello Lewin,
That's strange! Our process is fairly simple:
- Write a temp file containing the contents of the edited file.
- Check for a backup file of the current (with .BAK extension), if
it exists, delete it.
- Rename the current file with the .BAK extension.
- Rename the temporary file to the editing file name.
The exact order and steps will differ slightly if you have backups
turned off. All of this is done with standard DOS calls, so there
shouldn't be anything strange going on.
