  I have seen those donut makers in catalogs and on informercials.  I
  think they make cake doughnuts.  I seem to remember you pour a batter
  into the doughnut mold part of the baker, close the top and it bakes.
  Maybe someone on the echo has one of those donut makers and can jump
  in with a recipe.
