We non-USians have to admire your optimism and can-do attitude. Of course,
the US has many achievements, and maybe you could learn to live well in a
world where Antarctica has become so warm that large numbers of people live
there ("Having a new continent like Antartica melt and become
inhabitable might just be a good thing").

I'm not sure I would like the world with an iceless Antarctica, because
there would be one or two other adjustments that we'd need to make. I'll
mention just one point - I would miss beaches (sea levels would rise by 68
metres - that's seventy four yards).
