Light is also energy, carried in electrostatic fields and magnetic fields
at right angles to each other, and the energy does travel, at 299792458
meters per second. When light interacts with matter the intraction is
somewhat like a particle interaction, in that the angle of incidence is
also the angle of reflection, just like a directly hit billiard ball
bouncing off the side rail.
