The 50XG just attaches to the daughterboard connector on the card. It makes
your sound card fairly wide, but it doesn't actually use an extra slot. You
can put another card immediately to the right of it okay. I have one of
these and they sound excellent. However to my knowledge you cannot download
new sounds to them as you can with some Turtle Beach etc.
