Hi there. I can't believe that I found another swimmer here. It's not
exactly a popular sport among kids our age, I'll never figure out why. Yes
it was a swim meet that I was out of town for, two actually. The first one
was junior nationals in Vancouver. I did really well there. I came second
in the 200 back and I got my senior national qualifying time by over 1/2 a
second (the q.time is 2:10.44 and I went 2:09.85). And then the next week I
went to San Fransisco for the Far Westerns Champs. I won both the backstroke
events there, came second in the 200 I.M. and fourth in the 400 free and I.M.
I guess that I don't really like basketball because when I played it a couple
of times in grade nine, I broke my ankle first, then after that healed, i
severly sprained it. That's the only reason I don't really like the sport.
Well, I've been swimming for five years now in the swim club.(I'm 16 now,
turning 17 in September) I started because I had always liked to swim, and
I thought I might give this a try, just for something different. Who knews
that one day i would be ranked top ten in the country.
by the way, where do you live? I've heard of you club and I know most of the
clubs in the province, big or small.
Talk to ya' later
Mike Power
