Rules of the Paradox echo
(continued from previous message)
-Please don't request routine FidoNet or RBBS info
here, ask the SYSOP of your local node.
-The posting of "test" messages is considered annoying
behavior.
-Please don't reply to inappropriate messages, leave
it to the Moderator.
-Chatting: OK as long as it does not wander "off topic"
for too many messages. Remember that local node
SYSOPS do not wish to pay long distance charges to
circulate off topic discussions.
-There are no "Private" messages in the Echo.
Selecting the Private message option when posting the
message is no assurance that the message will not be
read by everyone on the echo or just simply deleted
entirely. This is not a rule per se, just the design
of the system. Many of us have had to learn this the
hard way.
-Please limit announcements to one per week.
-Please use standard English. One exception would be
recognized International phrases.
-Please don't type in all upper case unless your
equipment cannot do lower case.
-Please don't use multi-line signatures, except, of
course, the Moderator and co-Moderators when acting
as such.
-Absolutely no high-order ASCII characters (above 128)
or ASCII control codes.
-Telephone numbers: please don't forget the country or
area code.
-Use netmail, Internet, CompuServe, or surface mail for
corresponding with the Moderator.
CompuServe: 72650,3454
FIDO NET ADDRESS: 1:161/55
INTERNET ADDRESS: tfoote@slip.net
Surface (Snail) Mail: PO Box 9051
Emeryville, CA
94662-9051
Telephone: 510 A-1 JOB PC (215-6272, 24-hour message line)
-Suggestions and changes to these rules are welcome and
encouraged. Please propose changes to the rules via
Netmail or CompuServe.
The Moderator reserves the right to take part in any
discussions on the echo, without regard to his status as
Moderator. When he is acting specifically as Moderator, he
will sign his message as:
