From: "Rich Gauszka" The endorsements have been great for Tiger in 2006. I wouldn't shed a tear for Phil Mickelson, Arnold Palmer, or Michelle Wie either http://www.newsdaily.com/Sports/UPI-1-20070108-14393200-bc-glf-earnings.xml NEW YORK, Jan. 8 Tiger Woods pulled in nearly $99 million in 2006 on-course and off-course earnings and tops the Golf Digest 50 top earners for the fourth consecutive year. Golf Digest said Woods made $11,941,827 on the golf course last year and another $87 million in off-course endorsements. The magazine said Woods' increased his total by about $12 million over 2005. Golf Digest editors estimate Woods has earned $646,738,003 over 10 seasons and say the 31-year-old will become the first billionaire in sports by the end of 2010. Phil Mickelson was second on the 2006 Golf Digest list with $4.2 million in earnings on the course and about $40 million off the course. Golf legend Arnold Palmer, with $27.5 million off the course and $42,850 on the course, was third. Michelle Wie was the highest earning woman, totaling $20.2 million -- $735,224 on the course -- for sixth place, Golf Digest said. Annika Sorenstam, the No. 1 ranked woman in the world, was 13th with $2.3 million won on the course and $10.8 million earned off it.
