Please think for a minute about your Subject before posting.

For $80 you are seeing external writers, with their own power supplies
and boxes. And, Plextors. Plextor still highly customizes their
firmware. Accessing some of the features requires Win. You are not
writing thousands of CDs. And you won't spend extra for Plextor quality,
which does show up in tests you can readily find with a search engine.
All of the major mfgs make fine DVD/CD writers, available for <$50 if
you don't need the latest and very fastest, some of which require media
that, again, you would not pay the price premium to use.

This is something that puzzles me.  I see people talking about stuff
near $75.  I see drives  on eBay for as little as &10.  I have trouble
bringing the opposites together.  There has to be more to it than just
finding the cheapest thing out there.
