From: John Swenson CC: atmlist Reply-To: John Swenson Bob, I've recently been learning to do woodworking with hand tools (which is strange since I finally got a really good setup of power tools), you're right, its much faster to do hand cut dovetails for a small project then it is to setup a router and dovetail jig. If you are doing 20 drawers ok , use the router, but if you are just doing a mirror box its easier to do by hand. I'm getting to really like doing things with planes, its much more fun and a LOT less messy than using a router. Unfortunately this leads to the garrrage sale syndrome, trying to find quality old planes that nobody knows are good tools.
