Hey, I'll play your silly game.

I admit, I can not fault the SupraFaxModem (Rockwell) for connecting
and delivering at 28800 & 3300cps to USR's or anything else.
But that is the only one.

It can't be because of Their 64state trellis coding unless your
modem also supports 64state trellis coding.

That is a feature of mnp4, be it on a rockwell or USR. Nothing to
do with the brand of the chipset or modem.

You have not proof of how good your lines really are unless you use
a Datascope (professional gear) or have a USR Courier (anyone can
have one) both ends and use their Line Probe Diagnostic feature.
Anything Rockwell just give you a %L %Q 2 digit number (great help)
All you have to go on, other that actual throughput CPS (and that
can be boosted with

I am not really a "USR ZEALOT" I have Rockwells & USR's
I consider that the only Rockwell Modem worth any salt is the
SupraFaxModem 288i (because it uses Flash Rom to change\enhance
the code controlling the Rockwell Datapump, and Supra actually DO
delve quite deeply into turning a silk purse into a sow's ear)
ALL OTHER ROCKWELLS either just do cosmetic changes to rockwells
own controller or do nothing at all to improve their controller
code over the other clone makers code
