Hello
There are numerous ways to get photos out of your flash card in your
camera. Most cameras have a USB port for direct connection and this
connection can be made even directly to some printers iirc but certainly to
any usb port on a PC. There are also some nifty card readers built right
in to many printers and even some "modern" floppy drives now come
with 5-7 slots for the various size/type flash cards. This is one area
where Firewire is considerably superior to USB since it is possible to
connect almost any two devices having the Firewire interface w/o requiring
a PC anywhere in the chain, but WIntel chose to fight Apple, the early
adopter of Firewire, and support USB but that is another story, just one
that may affect you if you also have vidcams, etc. Most folks only have to
consider either USB or the direct card readers though. If you decide to go
for a card reader just be sure it handles the variety you have in your
camera as there are several competing types.
