I wouldn't say Dell is "Junk", but their cheaper models are not the
absolute latest technology. The T series Thinkpads have a titainium case
which is both strong and light - this costs extra money. The Thinkpad
has hardware security features that the DELL may not have. The target
for the Thinkpad is corporate enterprises, DELL targets the home and
smaller business users.

What I would say, if you need to run Windoze on the system is wait if
you can. Once Vista is released, two things will happen;

1. all computer hardware will have higher performance specifications,
especially in the video area as they will have to, to be able to run
Vista (even the lower level versions of Vista need a more powerful
system with more memory and larger disk than XP does).

and 2. The systems for sale with XP installed will drop dramatically in
price to clear the stock as the market will want systems with Vista
installed.

Cheers/2

Ed.
