If that's how the TP43 has been designed, it's a bad design. And no 
doubt that identical drive is specially coded and greatly overpriced? I 
had no problem whatsoever replacing the 20GB drive in my Toshiba 
Satellite (that's the cheapest of their lines) by a 60GB Seagate one off 
the shelf at Best Buy.
