I read something about this in aust_telecom I think. Is there the faintest
possibility that an Optus-overridden call might have been put through such
equipment ? I tried Optus, you see, as a last desperate move (!). My
default carrier is also Optus at this time, due to recent (and ongoing)...
"upsetting"... events of which I'm sure you're aware. I still
experience the same symptoms.
