JT> VH> Me, I'm an Infantryman, and I've had this discussion before -- what
JT> VH> people who haven't been there don't understand is that combat is OPEN
JT> VH> ENDED. In other words, there's no point where you can say "A little
JT> VH> more strength WOULDN'T be an advantage."
JT>Correct, and if you have enough (a lot) of strength, the combat is never
goi
JT>to get started...:)
JT>IE, Most folks aren't going to physically challenge Mike TYson.
JT>(or someone built like him)
That's an excellent point. If everybody KNOWS you can do it, you rarely
have to prove it.
I think we could show that there is a real downside to not having enough
beef on the line.
JT> VH> When you start putting smaller, weaker people -- and that means
females
JT> VH> -- in combat roles, you're always degrading your overall capability.
JT> VH> Of course, in the Infantry, we've so far managed to win this
rgument.
JT> VH> :-)
JT>The infantry isn't being ran by a bunch of wishy washy elected officials.
No, but that isn't for lack of trying on the part of those wishy-washy
elected types. :-)
