    It's a combination of ud (uptime daemon;  one of the ones available
 in Debian), sed, & some scripting...

   Once you have the basic STATSMSG, you can then add whatever else you

     One thing I've thought of is using an html to text utility on, for
instance, stat/mgroup.html & use that as the basis of a stats message; 
but I haven't gotten around to working on it as yet...
