dialup must be "registered" as with their stoopid

with "DialUp Networking" and the connection wizard (where I
usually pound the keys selecting "manual" install thank you very

windows in general! is about networking. The great little dialer starting
w/ Warp 3 was so cool with all the settings all in one place. I even
signed up back then with IBM as an ISP for awhile I was so pleased with how
straightforward it was. Ahhh the good ol' days (well, not that good I
guess considering speeds but you know what I mean)

Hi Jimmy,

IBM also provided a very efficient Dialler for use under Windows 3.1x,
unlike all the winsock flavoured ones - that is apart from the Trumpet
Winsock developed here in Australia [in Tasmania].

I signed up with IBM Global Services too at that time, about 12 years
ago - every call to their V34 modems was long-distance, no local access
from here in non-metro Australia, so although the basic cost was IIRC,
about $9.95/month [my Mastercard got charged each month by
IBM.dk[Denmark!], when one added in the telecommunications charges, very
high by comparison with US/Europe, it was very expensive! Glad things
have improved a lot! :-)
