Hello Rick,
-> >> You're wrong. K56 Flex modems are being sold, and K56 Flex hosts
-> >>are operating.
-> RG> I have a Hayes Accura 56K + Fax External and use it here on the
-> BBS. I got it thru the TradeUp plan on Hayes Web Site,
-> http://www.hayes.com.
-> Well, it isn't going to do you any good on your BBS. If you have a
-> K56Flex "client" modem - you have to connect with a K56Flex "server"
-> which you're only likely to find on an ISP. Your modem is capable of
-> up to 56K bps _downloads_ from a K56 "host". People connecting to
-> your BBS will be limited to the standard 33.6 Kbps V.34 speed.
-> You can't "host" a K56 Flex connection without digital lines.
It isn't going to do me any good unless I have the Hayes release of
K56Flex Flashrom code for the Accura.
My ISP supports x2 nd -will- when K56Flex is made available to them.
I talked to Hayes tech, Hayes os/support via email, and my ISP. Until
Hayes makes the code available - a "56k" connect aint a gonna happen.
Q: Do you have a Hayes K56Flex *with* the code?
Later...
Rick
