Yup. Looks like the drive is the problem. Tried a vacuum on it to
see if I could clear out any obstructions, but it did no good. Gee,
you'd think a drive would be good for more than just 13 years. ;-)
Guess the best solution is to go ahead and get eCs installed on the
Compaq Presario I recently acquired for that purpose. It includes
a nice CD/DVD R/W drive. Then I can let this 1993 assembly retire in
dignity.
